Oh gosh, the rebooting thing. The network people (they don't deserve a more glamorous title) here have all the school-provided laptops reboot at 4AM on weekends, which was quite a shocker the first time I woke up Saturday morning to find my beautiful weekend workflow wiped clean.
And whatever the case in this post, Windows does indeed forcedly reboot after so long. I think drquuxum summarized the unfortunate predicament well.
