I figured out why my machine got a bandwidth warning for 75 GB the other day: It's getting DoSed (i.e. sent gobs and gobs of useless traffic) by some site I've never heard of. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that if I report the DoS to computing services, they'll notice the two tickets I have open (one asking to let a machine named chinchilla back on the network, another asking a question about another machine named chinchilla which is on the network), put 2 and 2 together, and figure out that I'm using a machine that's been kicked off the network. So I'm not exactly sure what to do about this. But I only have a couple of bandwidth warnings left...
