Apr. 17th, 2007 02:59 pmIt appears quite likely that I'll be holding Ukranian Easter Egg dying on Friday (during CarnEvil). For those who aren't familiar with the idea, here are some pictures from a previous instance:
Eggs!
It takes the better part of a day -- if you only do one egg it's a few hours, but you won't stop at just one! It's not just straightforward egg dying, but an awesome wax-resist process by which you draw intricate designs on the egg, like those depicted above. (Assistance, along with dyes, tools, and eggs, will be available on Friday.)
I will try to start around 10 AM on Friday, in West Wing 4th floor lounge. Please RSVP if you're going to show up before noon, though, just to be safe. I'll probably keep the stuff out until 7 or 8 PM, longer if people want to stay.
It'll be awesome! You should come!
Since I'm too lame to be able to make polls, please comment if you are [thinking of] coming -- since I'm buying the eggs, I have to know how many to get. (Of course if you want to bring eggs, please be my guest -- any kind is probably fine. Edit: But probably not brown, unless you know what you're doing.)
